Open exclusively to professional visitors until Sunday, February 23, the fair showcases a wide range of products, including eyeglass frames, sunglasses and sports eyewear, protective glasses, optical lenses, contact lenses, contact lens accessories, care equipment, eyeglass cases, sunglass lenses, optometric and ophthalmic devices and accessories, ophthalmic diagnostic and treatment equipment, machinery and equipment for optical workshops and laboratories, spare parts for eyewear, and machinery for the optical industry.
The fashion trends of 2025 have also taken their place on the shelves at Optic World Izmir. Participating companies emphasized that bone frames and colorful eyewear will be the most preferred styles in the coming year.
“Colored Lenses Are Becoming More Popular”
One of the exhibitors, Volkan Erkul, stated:
“Both sunglasses and optical glasses are becoming slightly thicker and larger. Colorful eyewear is being preferred much more. Many manufacturers are producing glasses with colored lenses.”
“Bone Frames Are at the Forefront This Year”
Another exhibitor, Özkan Taş, noted that bone frames are particularly prominent this year:
“Colored lenses and mirrored lenses are being preferred. Preferences vary by region and differ according to individual tastes.”
Cansel Denktaş added that sporty bone frames are especially popular among men, saying:
“For women, larger frames, colorful lenses, and lighter tones are preferred. Narrow, angled models are also standing out.”
“Consumers Should Listen to Opticians”
Ergün Karaçanak, President of the Turkish Opticians and Optometrists Association, explained what should be considered when choosing eyewear. Emphasizing the importance of professional guidance, Karaçanak stated:
“Not every frame suits every face, no matter how fashionable or stylish it may be. First, we consider lens prescriptions and facial features. The most important factor in frame selection is proper fitting. If a frame is chosen in a way that does not allow correct focal alignment, problems will arise.
For this reason, I recommend that consumers listen to opticians and make their choices based on professional guidance.”
