Optic World İzmir – Optical, Eyewear, Ophthalmology and Technologies Expo, one of the key gatherings of the optical industry, will be held for the third time in İzmir between March 27–29. The expo will bring together manufacturers, distributors, retail representatives, and industry professionals, aiming to strengthen commercial connections ahead of the new season and foster international collaborations.
Hosted by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and organized by İZFAŞ at Fuar İzmir, Optic World İzmir Expo will be open only to professional visitors. During the event, bilateral business meetings are expected to help companies establish new business connections. In its third year, the organization is anticipated to reach a broader exhibitor and visitor profile, reinforcing its position as a significant regional meeting point in the optical sector by bringing together high-capacity, leading companies.
The expo will showcase eyeglass frames, sunglasses and sports eyewear, protective eyewear, optical lenses, contact lenses, as well as optometric and ophthalmological measurement, diagnostic, and treatment devices. Machinery and equipment for optical workshops and laboratories, industrial optical machines, eyewear spare parts, maintenance products, accessories, and cases will also be featured. The event will highlight new technologies and production solutions aimed at improving vision quality, while bringing together major industry players and local manufacturers. Special frame exhibitions and thematic presentations prepared by participating companies will offer visitors the opportunity to closely explore the latest developments in the sector.
Fashion trends reflected in collections
In addition to correcting vision, eyewear is increasingly seen as a complement to personal style, and a design- and style-oriented approach is expected to stand out in new season collections. This year, sustainable materials, oversized and acetate frame designs, and pastel-toned lenses inspired by nature are among the prominent trends. The collections to be showcased at the expo are expected to reveal the general direction of the 2026 summer season and 2027 fashion trends.
Talks and academic content
Within the scope of the expo, industry representatives, academics, and experts will come together in talks and sessions. Current developments in eye health and innovations in the optical sector will be discussed. On the first day, experts will share insights on new approaches to common vision problems such as myopia, developments in eyewear and contact lens use, and technological solutions in this field.
The second day will focus on daily practices and business processes in the optician profession. Topics such as store management, the impact of digitalization on the sector, and professional development will be addressed. A panel will also evaluate optometry practices around the world and expectations for improving vision health in Türkiye. The sessions aim to facilitate knowledge and experience sharing between industry professionals and academics.
More than 5,000 professional visitors expected
Last year, the expo hosted a total of 4,426 industry professionals—4,228 domestic visitors from 47 cities and 198 international visitors from 28 countries. This year, it aims to reach a wider participant and visitor profile. As part of its visitor outreach efforts, collaborations have been carried out with international representatives to reach professionals from Europe, the Balkans, North Africa, and the Middle East. More than 200 qualified international buyers are expected to visit, and the expo is anticipated to host over 5,000 domestic and international visitors, including manufacturers, distributors, retail chains, and sector professionals.
